The weekend will be full of creative collaboration, portfolio building, & unique opportunities to experiment, play, & create.

Where?

Okinawa, Japan!

We have rented a beautiful Airbnb in Nago to host us for day one, and part of day two.

Shooting locations will be held at the following locations:

Shinminka Villa Gushiken

Bise-Fukugi Tree Road

Teniya Beach

Why?

With the growing community of elopement & intimate wedding photographers in Okinawa we wanted to create a safe and fun environment to learn from each other, create beautiful art, and refocus on the why behind it all. Unlike other styled shoots, both days have been scheduled intentionally to experience, chat, and capture what a full & half day elopement could look and feel like in the hopes of finding new and helpful ways to serve our clients and help make their wedding day the best one ever.

What’s Included:

 

  • Day one will be a full day micro wedding experience. From getting ready shots & flat-lays, to ceremony, portraits, reception & sparkler send offs, this is the closest you can get to shooting a full wedding day other than the real thing!

    Day Two starts off with a steamy couples boudoir session followed by a half-day elopement. Explore how to foster a deeper connection with your clients and how to capture those intimate moments.

  • Whether you just started shooting weddings or you are a seasoned pro, there is room at the table for you. Share your experiences, ask questions, and learn from other creative minded people. This is a unique opportunity to peek behind the curtain and learn from other participating photographers and vendors how to make connections within the industry.

    Some Topics we’ll be discussing:

    -Timelines, guides, gifts, and other ways to serve your clients.

    -Leave No Trace and other outdoor practices to respect nature and still get the shot.

    -Fostering community & Vendor relationships

  • Your retreat ticket includes a light breakfast, and lunch , as well as drinks and snacks.

    Day one food includes:

    Breakfast- Eggs, French Toast & coffee

    Lunch- Build your own sandwich bar & gourmet salad

    Evening snack- Charcuterie (After photos of course)

    Day two food includes:

    Muffins, fruit & Coffee/ Juice

    Pizza from NYC Pizza Stand

    Evening Snack- Doughnuts (After photos of course)

    Snacks & drinks will also be available at all times in-between planned meals

    Please let us know if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions and we’d be happy to accommodate

  • Day two will include a headshot swap! Freshen up your branded content by swapping cards with your friends and getting new headshots.

    Our team will also be taking plenty of behind the scenes photos and video for you to use on your website or social media. RAW files will be provided via a shared google drive you can edit them to match your own style.

  • Welcome gifts, friendship, and tools to inspire you, we promise you’ll walk away with a renewed sense of inspiration and passion for this work.

  • Meet Kym

    Kym of Kym Dehoney Photography has spent over a decade in the creative & performing arts. After spending her younger & college years immersed in theatre, filmmaking, & creative writing, Kym found her passion in telling the stories of those madly in love. She began her photography business in 2020 and has since helped capture hundreds of love stories.

  • Meet Lydia

    Lydia of Lydia Beth floral has been serving Okinawa since 2020 with her beautiful & unique floral designs. From growing up in her grandmothers flower shop, to designing & managing within the floral industry, Lydia’s passion is fueled by her love of serving people in all of life’s important & meaningful experiences.

    Michelle of Michelle Marie Creative picked up her first camera at 16 and never put it down. She pours her passion for videography, photography & adventure into her work in short films.     Aleah of Aleah Charice Hair & Makeup has been creatively inspired by people since she can remember. She has been a licensed cosmetologist for 12 years and has since served brides & bridal parties all over the world. Aleah’s skill for helping her clients fee like the best versions of themselves comes from her passion of getting to meet diverse peoples with their own set of beautiful features and unique stories.

A Note From Kym

I really wanted to keep the price point per ticket as accessible as possible. Early in the process of building my business it was always scary to invest in myself. As I’ve grown I’ve learned that those investments have helped me grow tremendously as a photographer, creative, & business owner. But I remember taking that first step in investing beyond just gear. I know that hesitancy you may be feeling. So we’ve chosen to reinvest the ticket cost back into the event and take a cut in profit in order to offer the retreat and all its value at a price point that is doable for those just starting as well as being a killer deal for those who participate these events often. I truly want to create along side you, share my experience, and maybe learn something from you too. #CommunityOverCompetition

  • In order to keep the ticket cost as affordable as possible, lodging & transportation to the retreat is not included. But we are happy to provide lodging recommendations!

  • Any images capturing the work of the participating vendors will need to be shared with proper credit, further info will be given in your welcome package upon requesting a ticket.

  • We have two ticket options available. Either to pay in full, or to opt for a payment plan. Our payment plan is for two payments of $250 with a small processing charge. When choosing your ticket, no payment will be due until a custom invoice has been created for you when a member of our team has reached out with your welcome package.
